Garden Plots

This spring The Friends of Whittemore will again be offering community garden plots at Whittemore Wildlife Sanctuary at 7 Rockaway Rd., Oldwick, NJ. Despite last year’s late summer drought, the community garden yielded a bountiful harvest of tomatoes, zucchini, green beans and other fresh produce which was enjoyed by the community gardeners. The sanctuary boasts a large sunny deer fenced garden which is divided into twenty 12’ x 12’ plots.  The garden will be available in early May. Local residents may secure one or more plots to grow their own produce and/or flowers.  The gardeners  will follow organic gardening practices.  Each gardener will be responsible for planting, maintaining and harvesting their own plots.

The plots will be available for $25 each. They will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis with Friends of Whittemore members getting first priority. The application and other necessary forms are available on our website at www.whittemorewildlife.org.  For additional information please contact us at info@whittemorewildlife.org or call 908.439.1201.

Come join us and grow your own organic produce in our deer fenced garden right here in Tewksbury! Get your plots now before they’re all taken!
